Where's the Abundant Life? book cover

Book: "Where's the Abundant Life?"

It often seems that we in the Church are every bit as SICK, FRUSTRATED, BROKE, HURT, ENSLAVED, ANXIOUS, and DEPRESSED as the unbelieving world around us. Just where is the fullness of life that Jesus came to bring us? Why are we not seeing more evidence of it?

"Where's the Abundant Life?" by author Christopher Long is a no-nonsense, practical book that aims to help every believer live the life that God would have them to live. Regardless of which part of the Church you identify with or how long you've been a Jesus follower, this book is for YOU! It may be extra helpful for those dealing with any health challenges, but is geared to be ultra-beneficial for all.

This isn't meant to be just another self-help, "live a better life" book. Using literally hundreds of Bible passages, the foundation of this very thought-provoking and encouraging book is the Word of God and not emotion, hype, or traditions of man.

Around 300 pages (paperback edition).

A brief excerpt from Chapter 1

Everywhere I turn I see Christians living in defeat - always "struggling" with sin, "struggling" with sickness and disease, "struggling" with their emotions, "struggling" with finances. Struggling, struggling, struggling.

Can you identify? I can. For most of my Christian life, I would say it's been a struggle. And I would find myself looking around and saying to Jesus: "Where IS this abundant life?? Because I sure don't seem to have it, and most all these other Christians walking around don't seem to have it. Where is it?"

I knew I was missing something, but for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what it was.

In Romans 5, the Apostle Paul, speaking of Adam, says: "For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:17a NKJV)

Paul tells us that death (and by extension all the stuff that comes from that including sickness/disease, etc.) reigned through Adam because of his sin but that those of us who are believers in Jesus and have received an "abundance of grace" are to REIGN in life through Jesus Christ. Again, I have to ask: how many believers do you know that you could honestly say seem to be REIGNING in life - showcasing that they've received an "abundance of grace?" My guess is probably not many. I think it's time that we all start asking "why?" It's time we start questioning where the disconnect is.

You see, I am convinced that Jesus never intended for His followers to live defeated by anything - whether sin, sickness, or whatever. There is an abundant life that Jesus came to bring us that we are able to walk in, and that is what this book will be exploring.
